Where to purchase a quality, accurate potentiometer for the Volume control on a Kenwood KR-9050 unit ?

What's wrong with the original? Did you try cleaning it?

Yes.
9.3 % amplitude difference bet. channels as measured at pre-amp out / power amp in connector.
Resistance tolerance between the left and right portions.
Swapped potentiometer and in deed the error decreased to 3.1 % with a new potentiometer, although it was a non 4 terminal pot.

Difficult to find 4 terminal potentiometers with similar characteristics and physical attributes.

2 options.
1. If the volume error is constant, add a resistor in series with the input side of the high section.
2. Search for the manufacturer name (Noble or Alps) and value/ part#.

I like option 1. I have added pad resistors before in voice communication gear.
Adding a pad resistor is viable. However, you can never match the audio or logarithm taper. It is suitable. (IMO).
The owner ( not me ), did not want me to add a pad resistor.
I will approach him again on this topic.

Meanwhile - I have some feelers out for a replacement pot. Still looking for suggested suppliers of an equivalent pot.
