If one needed to replace the tweeter presence switch in a KLH 23, what would be a good replacement? Do they exist?

Since one of mine is seized, I presented the same question at the KLH group at Facebook and got this very interesting reply from someone who would seem to know about these things:

We experienced an issue with the speaker switch, in the early production runs, where the actual switch was mis-assembled by the Vendor we bought them from. The issue was a missing, thin washer on one of the assembly screws which caused the mechanical shaft to fit slightly ajar and would then cause binding of the switch. In the days when we dealt with this issue we simply replaced the switch. However, now that the switch is no longer available we can't do that. If you have one of these switches you can remove it and make sure that the appropriate spacers are in place on both sides of the mounting screws. If you find a difference, carefully disassemble the switch and insert a thin washer to make both sides equal. Then carefully put a small drop of Gun Oil on the shaft at the point where it goes through the collar at the top of the switch. In most cases, this should correct the issue.
