KLH meets Genesis....?

cableguy

In Twang We Trust
I bought these today at the salvation Army. They have what looks to be the same green foam as I found on my Genesis 1's. Interesting.....I would imagine they are a simular vintage as well :scratch2:

I've run into a very select few KLH models that have had the green foam in them. They were still KLH drivers, just looked different. The 331s were made around 77-80 IIRC.

Not to rob this thread or anything, but I once tried putting a pair of genesis 8" woofers in some KLH 32s and it was an incredible difference on the bottom end. I also tried the same woofers in the 24s and it made em nice and punchy. Try it sometime! If you've got spare epi/genesis 8" woofers and model 24 or 32 KLHs, see what you think. I thought it was an improvement...

If you mean more bottom end I would have to pass. These have a ton of bass to me. Please elaborate. :scratch2:

I'd never touch a pair of 4x. They sound great to me. I was just curious to see what the spare woofers I had would do. WHen i was younger I always liked the hard hitting tump of some good techno, but I never had speakers other than the 32s. THey had ok bass for my taste, but I thought it could be a little stronger and tighter. I had my 32s up to loud one day and cooked the woofers, oops. I had a spare pair of genesis woofers I took out of some trashed cabinets.

After putting the different woofers in the bottom end seemed extended and more powerful. I could also crank the chit outa them without fear of toasting the woofers.

Like I said it was a neat experiement. Good to try if you have a beat pair of 24s or 32s that need drivers.

here is a pic of an old epi wooger, it has the same blue cone paper. I don't imagine this adds up to much, but the parrelels are interesting. Rich, yes I did get them, I have a hard time passing up on these older KLH speakers. But that was it on the thrift action today.

Bill...between you and Homer, nothing is sacred in the mid state area...you are getting serious about your speaker addiction! ...nice scoop...a

Snoid,
We leave no stone unturned. I hope to be bringing 2 more sets home sunday.

Bill,
I keep thinking about those MONSTER C V's we saw today. I am gonna see if he wants to trade some of my Bose for them...!

You know he might go for it....people who don't really know Bose really love that stuff. Those were some of the biggest CV's I've ever seen in person. Go for it.... If you do this right maybe he'll throw in the Polks too

I'm gonna get those Polk either way...! They look sweet!!! I figuer I'll offer him a set of 901's first. If he doesen't bite i'll add in either some 301's or 601's.

Also I did some research on those Rogers speakers he had there. You were right about Rogers being from the UK, but the ones we saw were nothing like those... Possibly some kind off knockoff since they were made in the US...!

I got the Polks today!!! The guy wasn't there when I went this morning. I left him a message to call me about the trade. We'll see. I hope he goes for it... Post some pics when I get home...
