KLH model 6 tweeter same as model 32?

Needing to replace a KLH model SIX tweeter and found a model 32 tweeter, will that work? or is there a spreadsheet somewhere that shows what tweeters were use for what model KLH ?

From everything I've heard through the years, the tweeters on the classic KLH's can be interchanged. That being said, I recall a KLH ad from 1968 which listed tweeter sizes and it listed three different sizes so there must be different specs to some degree.

We used to have the Model Six that had the permanently-sealed (with some sort of resin) the tweeters and woofers to the cabinet... had to actually cut them out when they went bad! Or at least we thought we had to. Don't have them any more.

There are different tweeters. What makes it a little difficult is that there are two which look the same but are a bit different in voicing (and they're unmarked so telling them apart is pretty tough).

To answer the OP's question, the Model Thirty-Two tweeter is not the same as the one in the Model Six. The Models Six, Seventeen, Twenty and Thirty use the same tweeter. The Models Five, Twelve and Twenty-Three use a tweeter that looks the same but isn't. The Models Twenty-Two, Twenty-Four and I think some others used a third type. The Model Thirty-Two uses a fourth type.

Drove by a "free pile" last night and grabbed a pair of KLH 32's. They look to be in decent condition,I'll hook them up
later today and with any luck,they'll sound as good as they look! Looks like I'll be ordering some caps from PE...

Those Thirty Twos are nice little speakers. The 8" woofer packs a pretty good punch, the tweeter is a little CTS cone with a fiberglass disc under a wire mesh to tamp it down a bit. I actually doubled the thickness on mine to dampen it even a bit more, but overall they're real nice for their size. The cloth woofer surrounds probably need a light coat of butyl goo from Roy C, a member here. Without it, bass suffers a little.
