Klipsch kg4 passive woofer not working

Bought new kg4s. All banged to hell and back but everything is intact .One of the passive woofers isn't pumping. How do I fix this?

Passive radiators don't have any put AFAIK?? So if they seem to be non responsive, I would think it must be air leaking into the box???

you can seal all the internal cabinet seams and it will be time now to replace all the gaskets (don't forget the terminal cup). This would also be a good time to rotate the woofer 180 degrees. Check the dust caps to make sure they are all well sealed as they will leak air as well it not securely sealed.

Oh I never thought of that?? I've had my KG 4's for twenty some odd years and never had any cause to open them up.

I've never had a reason to open mine either.

Nonetheless, there's plenty of uncle Mels out there with their golden screwdriver. If one woofer gets connected backward, that will pretty much eliminate any movement in the passive.

this would also be a good time to install fresh crossover caps and Bob Crites titanium tweeter diaphragms. You're only regret will be that you did not do so sooner.

LOL Uncle Mel and his "Golden Screwdriver!" Yeah that's kinda silly?? I used the "Blind Monkey with a screwdriver," approach with my sigh ... Heathkit AA 40, power that puppy up flip her upside down and poke away????!!! That did not go well!!!

The good news .. is I survived! The bads news is that "now" I'm pretty sure my amp needs a lot more than new caps and a replacement for the surgisitor?? Aww well ... live and learn if your lucky! That was many years ago ... I still have the amp and when I go back at her ... I'll start a thread here, and I'll do better, I'm pretty sure.

As the saying goes "live and Learn" or is it ... "I'd rather be lucky than good!" Speaker troubleshooting is a lot safer ... course some of them can be powered ... just saying.

Mine are still stock but you are correct ... if your gonna open them up anyway .. you might as well mod them!

From people that like the KG'4's stock already, everyone that has modded with the Bob Crites Mods, seem to all proclaim them to be even better! But I do think I would would want to know how a speaker sounds stock and if I like it, before I started changing stuff around?? Potato, Potatoe as it were, I suppose.
