Klipsch KG4

Going to listen to a very minty pair of Kg4's. Seller is asking $250. If these are like new looking and play fine is that a reasonable price?

Locally for me that is a fair price if clean. Minty would bring even more. Many more here that know the market much better than I. I know this is not apples to apples but will give you an idea. Just sold my KG 4.5s this week for that same money. They were 7+... light damage on one front corner, 2 holes in one grill and a few light scratched in cabinets. Sold quick and had several interested.

I would think if they are functional and presentable if you dont like them you could get your money back out of them.

If they are in excellent condition, run don't walk. Who knows? If you offer two, he might counter two-and-a-quarter, or even take the two, but I'd still come home with them at two-fifty for sure. Should still be able to make a buck on them if you don't keep them, or at least sell quickly for what you paid. They're an easy speaker for most people to keep.

Thanks for all the replies! Seems that I should feel good about the price. Looking forward to hearing them again. I heard them at a Tweeter years ago and remember really liking the sound.

I wish I could find another pair local in that condition, gave $275 for mine in VG condition from the original owner, walnut finish.

So I think that $250 is too much for me right now. Found a pair of KG3.5's for 100 that are in great condition except for a couple of holes in the grill cloth but I can replace the grill cloth cheaply. Looks like they had pretty basic cloth.

It does vary by region and there might also be increased demand over the past couple of years due to buzz about them (at least on AK). I passed up a pair of 4.2 upgraded with Crites diaphragms a year or two ago for $200 just because I already have that same speaker. But I haven't seen a pair since on my local CL so there's that.

I would still go for the Kg4s instead. Whenever I look for older Klipsch' I always pass over the ".2" series. The Kg4s should guarantee later resale.

Good to know. I can't listen to the KG3.5's until saturday and I guess someone is going to listen to them today. Might have to go for the KG4's or possibly a pair of KG3's that just came up.

Usual CL asking price for a nice set of KG-4's here in Houston is $400 so I'd say that's a good deal. Awesome speakers too, BTW.

Wow really? They have really gone up.

I was going to say I will buy a pair for much less and ship to anyone who can't find them less than $400, and we'd both come out ahead, but there is not a set for sale on CL anywhere in my region! Just don't see the kg4 around here much.

And next to the kg4 add are a pair of mint klipsch chorus2 for $600 LOL those kg4 probably sit there for a while. Wish I hade the $$$ for those chorus 2 though.

I have no affiliation with any of these adds.
