3FEDA083-7A48-4D26-BBFB-77E2396D8B94.jpeg Does the foam belong in these speakers? It came to me with the side off. The side of the other speaker is loose. It has the foam. I’d like to know the purpose of the foam.

the foam is there to catch and damp frequencies from the woofer which are at its top in band range and the ones which are past band (past crossover). If you don't damp these down they can leak out through the passive at high enough levels you can hear them and you don't want that. The foam is NOT there to damp the woofer that is the job of the passive radiator. I hope this answers your question.
