I had a pair of these back in the day. 2 15 inch speakers in each cabinet and a mere 85 lbs each. They seemed remarkably light for their size at the time.

The head was an MP-5. The back lit control panel had a "dimmer" switch (right), as well as a NFB control switch labeled "normal" and "record". Each channel had a "Reverb" level control knob and master reverb "depth" and "tone" control knobs were to the right with a footswitch jack.

Roland Jazz Chorus JC-120 c. 1976 w JBL's.
This was a heavy bastard. Came with wheels though. Loud too.
These are all likenesses - I don't have any of these anymore.
Should have kept them all but I was on the road a lot.

As soon as its done on the bench I will post a pic of my Train Wreck clone. I have a Traynor YGL-3A too.

My old Fender Deluxe Reverb, LPD I also have a Wreck & will post soon...

Mine was constructed inside a Traynor vocal tube head and sounds very good. Just swapping the pt for lower b+.

Cool, looking forward to pictures. Good yours came out without issues, sometimes guys deviated from the stock layout and have noise or oscillation problems.

No noise issues but voltages were to high creating a stiff sounding amp. So a lower rated pt is on order to bring the voltages to spec. The traynor was gutted and all parts replaced with Express components. I will post a pic once the swap is done.

1960 alamo

I picked this amp up at an estate sale this weekend. Three tube setup 12ax7 pre amp, 6v6gta power stage, 5ygt rectifier, Utah speaker code 328064. It has a volume but no tone pot & two inputs. I also snagged some lp's as well. Anyone recognize this amp, it has schematic for alamo reverb + but this is not the reverb +.

Hey wow yeah those are a lot alike. Very, Very Nice!!

A Discoverer with Reverb? I don't remember mine having reverb. :scratch2:

I bought a very early Discoverer in 1967 or so. I believe mine was a '62 model. A friend of mine was selling it and wanted to buy a Bandmaster (which he did).

My mother bought me a brand new Gibson '65 SG Jr. in Polaris White to go with the Discoverer when I was taking guitar lessons at a music store back in '66 or '67. I loved both of them and wish I still had them! :tears:

You have an awesome collection byoungman1.

Yep, Gibson was notorious for variations within a set model.
Thanks--if I had a wifey, she'd definitely kill me

OK, so this is where the amps go...

This is my main rig- an SWR SM-900 into an SWR Big Bertha 2x15 cab.

Although the cab weighs like 115 pounds, it's easier to 'tilt and push' into the back of my station wagon than it is dead lifting a 90 pound cab.

I used to have problems with the amp overheating in the rack. So I mounted a computer fan. I also have holes drilled in the rack handle recess which is right by the amp's heat sink exhaust.

It is kind of crazy- because this a motherfucker of a rig- but this is my "B" rig- most of the time it just stays in the basement.

The cabs are an SWR Goliath II (4x10) and an SWR Triad (15+10+horn) the amp is a Seymour Duncan 300x300w head- it's great for bi-amping, but AWESOME for running dual mono. The Triad can't push the same amount of power that the 4x10 can, so I can crank the 4x10 and keep the Triad more managable.

I've got 2 Seymour heads- the one in the pic above and this one is kind of on permanent duty at a friend's house.

That's not a capacitor.... These are capacitors.

My Guitar Amps...

My main rig for the past 20 years now has been my 1978 Marshall 50w MV head through a 1976/77 4x12 bass cab.

The Marshall is the cat's pajamas. Some people don't like the 6550s in the US amps- but I love the way this amp sounds, I would NEVER change it to EL-34s. Then again, I have a pretty fine EL-34 amp in the Park. The Park is a relatively rare amp- and this is one of the very last original Parks- a 1981 50w MV head. Although it's the same circuit board- they really are quite different sounding.

This is my 1962 Gibson Falcon. I love the way this amp breaks up- It didn't have enough gain and volume for me when I was a kid, now this amp is so phenomenal. Of course, I've used up my stash of old RCA and Sylvania 6v6s.
