I met her in the early 90's. She was touring with Aaron Neville and I had backstage access.

I've been in love with her voice since the first time I heard Different Drum!

You are in for a treat! Those Curtis-Wright engines are something to behold. Each having 18 supercharged cylinders and about 2800hp (3300hp in war tune). It will sound a little like 36 Harleys running in unison with strait pipes getting on the freeway at the same time only with much bigger cubic inches and at higher RPM. FiFi now has greatly modified engines that are modernized resulting in a much more docile effect than the old brutes, but you will get the point. I actually heard her fly back when she had the original motors and it would give you goose bumps. You could hear it to the bone!

From back when men were men and your life depended on the size of your gonads (plus a lot of high octane fuel and a good oil supply).

They used the latest and most upgraded engines from the Douglas A-1 Skyraider that was built until the early 60s.
