Have you considered options from other companies: Cerwin Vega, Behringer, M-Audio, Mackie, Akai, etc.? You'd probably find offerings that gave you better clarity than Logitech stuff, and for somewhere in the neighborhood of $100.
Logitech stuff seems aimed at people wanting lots and lots of bass for video games, accurate music reproduction being a secondary consideration.

I've generally found Logitech's cheaper stuff to be rather good for the money,
and certainly not bass heavy, set up properly. The secret to setting up that $70
system is keep the sub off the floor, set it up same hieght as the speakers and
of course inbetween them.
MInor tweaks can be a single piece of foam behind the subs driver.
Logitech use very intelligent amplifiction processing, not avialable to DIY, to make
the systems go much louder than you'd expect before you get clear overload,
with bass management that makes the sub pretty much bombproof.
For HiFi you should avoid running near maximum volume as these systems
will kick in, though FWIW, they work surprisingly well for video soundtracks.

Alas, I don't play video games myself. You'd have to ask a gamer that question.

As for bass and gamers, YES!!! you want bass. Explosion are much more realistic with more bass. Aircraft have deeper sound that helps make you feel like your there. Overall Bass makes the gaming experience more fulfilling.

I've never heard of that system. If you're going to get a set of computer speakers, I'd stick with Logitech. You never know what kind of support you're likely to get with "off" brands that are sold primarily on Amazon.

None of the companies would provide me any support. I'd get warranty from my local store, so there's no difference in that
Yeah, but I always play in headphones and am looking for speakers solely for music. Maybe I should get a 2.0 system then?

I'd still go with the name brand. I wouldn't choose Edifier stuff over anything offered by Logitech. But, of course, it's your money.

I own a pair. They are great, but they are waaaay beyond the OP's budget.
