Logitech z623 vs z533

Go for a set of used Logitech Z-2300 if you want a lot of speaker for the money. These were legendary in their time, Logitech were rumored to have lost money on every over-engineered set sold in their quest to knock off Klipsch of the top of the 2.1 multimedia heap. 5 star average rating from 1277 Newegg reviews. Most users who bought the z-623 have been disappointed in the "step down".

Altec Lansing Mx-6021 and Mx-5021 were also good at the time. I still have a set of MX-5021 and are surprisingly detailed and crisp.

All three are THX certified.

i have the klipsch too and i only added some internal damping foam to the inside of the sub enclosure. also the control pod debacle isn't actually a big deal afterall. excellent sound for what they are..

yeah, I found one used for $140. Don't feel comfortable giving that much for a set that's been in use for 10 years though.
I have a set of the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. THX certified and incredible sound.
I don't have klipsch here, and ordering from abroad would result in $300.

Good call, $140 for a used Z-2300 is ridiculous, as good as they are. I got a used set a few years ago in mint condition for $55 Canadian.
