Looking for vintage audio repair forum

Repairing an older kenwood 6080, no power but can power up with test sequence. I cannot even find the on off switch in the schematic.. where are the vintage audio repair forums? this site? did i miss it...

Generally the power circuit is somewhat separate from the main schematics, look for the transformer and the switch and fuses should be with that diagram.

There are a few different 6080's.
Need to be specific.

It is a kenwood kr-v6080 without the standby switch. attached is the schematic of the power board. on cn14 pin 5 is the power signal. trace back to the u processor. since both the power button and the remote power does not work i assume the micro-p has an input for those signals. i just do not see the power switch on the schematics. Schematics are easy to find so since there are many pages I wont post here

Power is switched via RY401, Q402 is the relay driver.

Confirm that you have the always on power supply voltages sourced from T401.

You can look at J108 for the DC input to the Q401 regulator. And confirm 5.5 volts from Q401 exiting at pin one.

And look for the 5 volts exiting at pin 4.

what version do you have?

k type/p type have no power switch as posted above

as posted below, y type has no power switch but m type does.

i am assuming this is why @kwayde asked what 6080 you have. i'm also going to assume that you have the m-type since you have a power switch.

if not, i tried.

q4 is off so power relay does not turn on
