power switch fix

I have a Kenwood KR6050 that needs the power switch repaired. I read sometime ago where an AK member had the repair info available on cd. I did a search and cannot find it. Anybody recall this?

I remember the thread but not the member. That switch is a two layered switch IIRC and prone to cooking itself. I have an 8050 which I believe has a similar switch so I have been leaving it on and using a power strip switch to turn it on and off. I need to open it up soon and look for any damage. Fires in your stereo are probably not a lot of fun. Good luck on your search. If you find it, I'm going to bookmark it for future reference.

There were a couple of good suggestions including the power strip solution. Even though I use the power strip the dial lamps still flicker and dim. But only when my house lights are on. ???

I vaguely remember reversing the wafers (?) on the switch but I really need that step by step information so not to mess anything up.
