Thought I read somewhere 66 without the woodcase and 69 with...I may be mistaken... regardless...has the power to go along with its heft!

Got this gratis from a friend in great cosmetic shape but not playing. Took it to chazix who did an outstanding job with it.
It sounds superb through my Snell E II's and is a thing of beauty to boot
It has now replaced my AU-717/TU-717 pair.
It sounds that good and takes up 1/2 the space in the rack.

It sounds superb through my Snell E II's and is a thing of beauty to boot
It has now replaced my AU-717/TU-717 pair.
It sounds that good and takes up 1/2 the space in the rack.

Not sure yet, been looking at some old pioneers, jbls, or infinity.... so many decisions...

What kind of sound do you like? I haven't heard a good JBL and my ∞ listening opinions are also very limited so I can say I won't be looking for those brands for my R-1120. But talking to an ak friend who has a number of good JBL speakers, he agreed I have not heard a good one yet. They made a lot of speakers. The infinites, I have a list of the good ones and there are some akers in the area that have some. I might need to get a listen to some of them.

I'm using Dahlquist, Magneplanar, Time Window and ADS mostly. Generally a different sound from the brands you mention. That is why I asked about the sound you like.

I think the Luxmans of that era have some of the most attractive faceplates/dials of all receivers.

My 2nd TP-114 preamp undergoing bench testing with a Playstation 1 cd player as source.

Love it's smooth sound even if it is not one of the premier silver faced models.
If the time ever comes to re-cap, it has about the most simple layout i;ve ever seen inside audio gear.

Until the rectifiers are repaired in my R-1120 power supply It will be used to feed the amp section of a Lux R-115 receiver and a Kenwood Basic M2.

Look into Hans' Luxman site it has upgrades for this amp. Might as well make it better if you are going to do surgery.

This is the first Luxman stereo I had given to me couple years ago that started my Luxman bug. Receiver wouldn't turn on but a reflow solved that issue. I would like to find a wiring schematic or a service manual for this R-3045 Luxman receiver and do a recap.
