Hi, my dad passed away after a long illness....I have to sell off the remainder of his collection of audio equipment and tubes to help pay for my mother's care. I hope this is a good place for information as I know very little about his hobby.

Since you joined you've created a couple of threads seeking value, AK is not an appraisal site nor does anyone here offer appraisal service.

For the most part when folks reply to these type of threads they are just sharing information from completed/sold listings on sites such as eBay, Reverb, HiFi shark etc.

Unfortunately the pieces you asked questions of are somewhat esoteric and unique so there more then likely is not going to be a lot of sales data for them.

Brian Hazel (A New England master of tube repair, design and especially great with tube tuners) designed and built those amps. I marketed them. Sadly, Brian passed about 6 years ago. I truly miss talking with him. I am in the process of reviving the Phono stage he and I designed. The amps sold for about $800 - $1000 when I sold them but they are special. They use vintage American made transformers and they are completely hand wired. A meticulous process. The inspiration was older designs, modified for ultimate sound. Low wattage, mostly single ended stuff. We were searching for the ultimate low wattage tube amp. Everything we built and sold was top quality. It's worth what someone will pay for it. I wouldn't do this kind of work again unless we were charging at least double.

It's a nice looking 2A3 amplifier. These and the 300B SET amps can sound very nice if built right. I built a 300B a few years ago using iron from Trancendar.
Its really too bad he isn't winding transformers anymore.

Great looking amp @Strohmann! I can't help with valuation but @soundbug1 gives you a start. You should also check the value of the tubes, especially if you can verify their working condition. It seems like the amp might be unique/boutique, so valuation could be tough. I hope that you find the info that you need.

You might consider becoming an AK subscriber and posting the gear on AK's Barter Town with a 'make offer' price if you decide to sell. Personally, I am not a fan of the 'make offer' approach, but it might be an option in your situation.

This one went for $250 plus shipping according to Terapeak (yes, I know the original asking price was $400). Yours is probably worth decently more, at least $400-800 if you find the right person.
