Marantz 150!

Thanks for the advice. I am actually getting the original owners manual in the mail very soon. It looks like it is time for me to invest in an OK dipole. Any suggestions? Or all they all basically the same.

I can't speak highly enough of how awesome the scope on this tuner is. It is just mezmerizing to watch.

I think I figured out part of the issue with turning. I had the "Stereo Only" button engaged this whole time, so it wasn't an FM Muting issue.

Check out the multipath display as well. My Model 19 has a small scope tube and this is included as well. Very handy. See if you can find a replacement scope tube just in case. I have a spare for the 19.

Thought I'd share a video of this in action:

I can't take my eyes off her!

Beautifull scope !!

But...If I were you, I'd turn Down the illumination of the scope quite a bit. Otherwise you'll burn out the selenium layer on the backside of the scope-frontglass pretty fast. Those scopetubes are unobtainia.

The user manual explains, that you should adjust the scope, so it is barely visible - just enough so you can tune in and Watch the figures on it - that's it.

I'd definately keep the green scope with a "G" as in greeeeen - looks fabulous.

The problems with static probably occurs in the tuning section (tuning-capacitor). It needs a cleaning - but if you do not feel familiar with that - i'd have no doubts leaving that to a qualified and experienced tech - that knows about how to do that properly. It can be ruined in the hands of a rookie. In a 150 the tuning capacitor guts are very difficult to get to - calls for surgical skills.

best regards
freddy
