I have a Marantz 2220 that I am very happy with the sound . There is a 1060 for sale on my local craigslist and was wondering if that would be a step up from my 2220 ? Would appreciate any and all opinions !
If prefer a restored 1060 over a restored 2220 all day every day...just my opinion but I really like the 1060 for what it is. More depth to the sound and more guts in the low end. That's part of the reason the 1060 prices have been going up and up over the last couple of years.
The difference may not be all that much though to you. But I'd say grab it and see which you like best and sell the other or keep it as a backup unit. Of course there's no tuner in the 1060 but there are some nice Marantz matching era ones.
