Bought a Marantz receiver 2225 on Ebay awhile back all lights were burnt out so replaced them. I love it so good and so beautiful and the price was right. This is my home stereo now can't believe the power this has at only 25 watts awesome.

Yes indeed those watts seem sneaky good , I have a 2220b and now a 2238 and it sound aces with my HPM 100 . Enjoy the 2225 is a nice unit

Ah yes I love the Marantz receiver 2225, I would like to have a 100 watt Marantz but to much green for my budget right now. I had a Marantz 6270q turntable but it just drove me crazy skating and getting stuck. I now have a sanyo which works well. I might add I have a Luxman P-405 TT, also skips and skates, I just ordered a new stylus for it hope that fixes it, will see comes to me Monday. I may have to move over to turntables and ask some questions otherwise. Stylus did the job.

I like your football pic, I need to come up with a pic and become a subscriber, just have to learn the ropes here.

im convinced that newer receivers lie about how many watts they put out. i bought my daughter a sony surround system for her television and it stated 1200 watts total with 125 going to the sub. after listening to it i determined there was no way the other 5 channels put out over 200 watts each and trashed it and found a nice used yamaha at 75 watts rms. not only was it louder but sounded better too. and im beting that marantz not only sounds better than most everything made today but likely is at least as loud. great find man i admit im a lil jealous

I believe your right that many watts might make you say what? I installed the new stylus on my Luxman TT works great. I have a question I hope to get a answer to. I have a Marantz 5220 cassette recorder deck, they made it with no air vents in the cabinet and it has a lot of components in there, what keeps it cool?

Congratulations, hard to beat that sweet Marantz sound! I have a 2230 that I love, going to try for a 2270 next. What speakers are you using with that 2225?

Magnavox MME 239 speaker system from a Magnavox system I was using but it failed. The speakers are small 8 ohm book shelf speakers but handle the power even if I crank it up and sound good. Good enough for now.
