Marantz 2270 and 6 ohm speakers?

Can I run 6 ohm speakers off of my Marantz 2270 receiver? I am assuming that 8 ohm speakers are the speakers that are normally run off this receiver.
What about 4 ohm speakers (if I ever look at them)?

Thanks

Yes, a 4 ohm load is absolutely fine for all the Marantz receivers. :) The same goes for 6, of course.

There were two versions of the 2270 during my days selling it. The first put out more power into a 4 ohm load. The second, with "Superscope" on the back plate put out less power.

This might not even cause a problem but it caused my buddy Jim to ruin a set of speakers.

I beg to differ:)

There was never a 2270 released with superscope on the back plate.

Yes there was as one of my cousins had one marked Superscope on the backside and at the same time as I had the Regular Marantz 2270 both were bought the same year:):scratch2:
