Marantz Model 1152 DC Cracking Sound...

My Marantz 1152DC amplifier sometimes makes a cracking/popping sound from the speakers. I changed the rca cables. But there was no difference. What could be the error? can you help me?

When in both speakers the first place to start is the power supply. There could be a failing capacitor or other part. If your not familiar with working on audio equipment or know your way around a soldering gun and some basic test equipment, it would be best to find a reputable repair service. It could just be dirty potentiometers like the volume control, balance control, selector switch, etc also. Does it make scratch noises when turning any controls or when turning the selector switch?

What source are you using? i.e. Is that popping sound hearable on all the sources? Like for CD and Tuner or Phono only?

Crackly small signal transistors. Differential inputs in the amp section are prime culprits.

Not always this problem. This noise is heard occasionally even when the controls are not being adjusted.

Can you solder? It's transistors. Probably as mentioned the amp input pair, but I would replace them all for peace of mind, and in case it turns out to not be that pair.
