I would also add, what's with the negativity regarding the seller's laziness about not giving the model number? Sometimes people are lazy because they are just that - lazy people, and other times they are lazy simply because the component has been sitting around for a long time taking up space, and they don't care about it anymore. Also, just because someone doesn't care about it anymore doesn't mean that there is something wrong with it, or that the seller is trying to fleece the buyer. It is my general opinion that if a seller is willing to invite you into their own home to buy a piece of gear, that they are generally well-intentioned people who are not looking to rip people off. If they demand to meet elsewhere, then that might be suspect, but if it is at their home I have no worries about it. I generally believe that the goodness of others exists more than we give credit, and that they aren't trying to rip people off. Again, I think if they are willing to invite you into their own home to buy something they are selling, that tells me enough about the seller to feel safe about buying a piece of gear from them. Out of all the gear I have bought, and I have bought LOTS of gear (some even bought under the same circumstance), I have never once had a piece of gear crap out on me. If a seller wants to fleece the buyer, then they'll do it on ebay or some other shady site, not their own home.
