Interesting to hear what is your opinion on the comparsion. My local dealer told me that the MC-2000 is a very good amp. Although it is a dual mono design, it is limited by the fact it only has one powercord. Unfortunately, he did not compare the two side by side to give me any conclusion.

I think the sound from two mono amps may be better. However, the MC2000 is more pretty to look at.

I am interested in your comparasion results. I am seeking a MC2000.

Now this is a comparison that doesn't get done much. We have all of these amps in our sound room. I spent the evening yesterday doing some comparisons. A quick review..... A single MC2000 is still the best sounding tube amp that I have ever heard! The bass is very smooth and robust, mids and highs are smooth without losing any detail. The MC275's in mono were actually quite good. And up to about 30 watts, kept up to the MC2000 very well, but when a good low frequency song would kick in, it would become very muddy and loose the clarity.

Oops.......did Ryan just talk folks out of a current model when compared to a model that is no longer available?

But, I would like to read what RED1TOP has to say.

If he did that would make him a stand up fella and certainly someone you could trust with your big $$$ audio decisions...well, we knew that anyway didn't we?:thmbsp:

Well, without trying to be bias since I use a MC2000, the only comparison I have done is with two 2102s and IMO the MC2000 is sweeter and feels more in control of the low frequencies than the mono 2102s. Perhaps a very personal preference

Now I dream of getting another Mc2000! I don't think my current MC2000 will EVER leave my system :music:

As for Ryan, I believe he tells you as he sees it. No bull and a very dependable source. :thmbsp:

I once ran an MC275 with a set of Nautlis 803's with the MC275 powering the lows and an MC240 running the top. It sounded very sweet indeed. Full on the bottom and very lush on top. Now I run an MC2000 with Wilson cubs and a Wilson Sub. Never did a comparison with the same speakers but It seems to me the MC2000 is much more detailed and open but then again so are the Wilsons compared to the B&Ws so any real comparison is meaningless. Just my 2 cents. Looking foreward to Redtops results.
