MC501 compared to MC402

Two blocks is always better than one.:thmbsp:

And 2 bigger blocks is even better,:D

Then comes 6 huge blocks is even much better than the 2 bigger blocks !:D :D

Yes, the MC501s are RoHS. We are about 90% RoHS certified, model wise. All new models are RoHS and the soldering is very precise.

Thanks,

Hi Ron,

Just curious, the MC1201's starts RoH at serial number SL22xx onwards? or before?

Thanks.:scratch2:

Oh I forgot! Now that we are into this RoHS thing no more curb parking your old McIntosh units. Please recycle!

Thanks,
Ron-C

MC1201s are now RoHS. Not sure about the serial prefix though.

Hi Ron,

Thanks for answering. Lucky over this side of the world, not so crazy about this RoH thingy, and me? makes no difference. Reason for asking is out of curiosity.

To me, as long as its a true blue McIntosh MC1201, to me they sizzle !!! Glass panel, blue meters and the little blue and green lights are great stuff to look at! Anytime !!! :thmbsp: :thmbsp: :thmbsp:

Jerry,

RoHS has been a very big burden to implement on the manufacturing side. China will follow the EU in RoHS implementation I believe next year along with many states in the US.
Just another one of life's changes we all get used to. The only other option is to complain and defend the pollution of ground water with hazardous chemicals and heavy metals. I will go with RoHS.

Thanks,
Ron-C

Hi Ron,

I certainly understand that. Cuz I work in a manufacturing company. Yes, its a change we all have to make BUT I think I can live with whatever non-RoH McIntosh stuff I had bought so far.

One can never change history BUT hopefully, we can change attitutes and perception.

Happy New Year ... Ooops, sorry, you mention China and I thought you are Chinese too. Silly of me. Nonetheless, no harm wishing you cuz to me, this is New Year to everyone and I do wish everyone the best for the coming Year of The Boar (some like to call Pig, but thats a little gross).

Cheers.

I'll do my part and become the semi-offical recycling curb side drop off for all "old" McIntosh units. :smoke: :D
