So that you can run a two room system? Even if you could there might be some sonic degradation doing that but cheaper than buying another cd player! Don't know I'm afraid and I haven't got another amp to try

The fixed and variable output from MCD201 are going out at the same time, but you can't choose any of them from the 201 or remote, you probably need two amps or a MA6500 int. amp which can output two sets of speakers at the same time, and yes it is selectable ( spk1 , spk2, spk1+spk2 ) from the amp's remote if my memory is correct.

Yes, you can used the fixed and variable at the same time to feed TWO different preamps, integrateds etc. This would let you balance the volume between two systems.

Hi Ron,

Since this is the case for the MCD201, can this same principle be applied to vintage gears like my MCD7005 where it does have variable output controllable from the remote? Of course, the FIX output is assigned to the MAC4100 receiver, in turn powering the Heresy III's.

If OK, then for the time being, I can use that to power my MC2000 for a change as its sitting right on top of it.

Asked cause I do need to do some "warmup" on the MC2000 to keep it in good shape.

Yes, you should use the MC2000 once in a while because it sounds great. MCD 7005 volume control is for the headphone output only I believe?
