What's a good Mcintosh C29 preamp worth? Always wanted a nice Mac preamp and have a line on one. $300 - $400 asking price.

I am by no means an expert. But, I usually see them around $500+...:dunno:

That's kinda what I thought. I'm wondering if it's a widow selling her beloved's pride and joy. If so I will take very good care of it. :yes:

And if she's a hot GILF I'll invite her over to listen :D

That's nice... AS IF she's never heard it! :D

I've seen those house plants in your pics. No way you're single...:no:

She's never heard it like she'd hear it with the Shack! :D

It's the original owners daughter so this could be very exciting. And she woks at a Children's School. Not that I have hope she's into 52 year old fat, bald guys that are vintage audio geeks :no: But I can dream :yes:

Oh well that fantasy just burst wide open. I called to leave a message at her work number - remember I said she is teacher at childrens school?

Turns out she's a girls gym teacher :yikes:

:dammit::withstpd:

Remember the movie "Porky's"? Kim Catrell was a PE teacher.

BTW, I paid more than $500 for mine. Mine came with the wood cabinet and original shipping crates for both the preamp and the cabinet.

I remember Porky's but not Kim Catrell.

Well this was the stereotype - no doubt about it. But the C29 is in great cosmetic shape. Haven't tested it yet. She threw in Tandberg 310 cassette I was interested in.
