Thanks for the correction. Amps are kind of personal devices -- it's not like you drive it around where everybody can see, so I have no issues with an owner making that choice. I'll bet McInstosh's margins on logo sales are close to 100%, so at least they are getting some indirect "scraps consolation income" from these clones

I think the real issue here is that the genuine US made version has become ridiculously expensive - they keep jacking up the price disproportionate to inflation, on a product which is substantially the same as it was 60 years ago. It's no big surprise someone is filling the gaps with a less expensive alternative.
I mean, these are end type amplifiers. If McIntosh is selling as many as they have planned, they are priced correctly.
I was close to getting one from Ali Express. But I decided on Quicksilver Mid Monos built in the US. Very happy with them so far.
One of the things that put me off was not knowing how the tubes were biased on this. Still even knowing that it is auto bias I'm still sure I made the right decision on the quicksilvers.

Maybe I should take a "Poll" to ask which Name Plate I should use. And I did purchase the name plate (McIntosh 275) from Audio Classics.

We have an entire industry, a trillion dollar enterprising modality based almost solely on this kind of commerce.
Marketing.
Some call it competitive, some call it copying.
The first manufacturer of a roll of toilet paper said to the second manufacturer “you stole that!”
I might start selling off my genuine McIntosh for these reproductions (see how using different words makes it sound different. marketing) just to double the quantity of audio equipment I have.
I would wager that those who are most appalled by these facsimiles, are really worried that their status might be on the line. But it’s nice to see so many willing to fight for the honor of a corporation.
BTW, I do own Mac pieces, I do highly respect their engineering and lineage.

Yes AilExpress....Matter of fact the "DENAFRIPS Audio Store".....Yes Denafrips as in ARES II, PONTUS II, VENUS II DACS, Pre-Amps, Amp. Not that I asked but the Factory seems to have a Side business.

In my opinion, your vote is the only one that matters. Have fun with it. I detest fake labels when it's for show trying to fool others, but for a personal item that few people will see, do what you see fit.
I did a Vox "AC-30" transformation on my son's Vox VT-50 guitar amp -- he likes the flexibility of the hybrid SS/tube VT-50 over the all-tube AC-30, but the VT-50 is rather hideous with a metal grate over the speaker. It looks a million times better now and he enjoys it more -- not trying to fool anyone, just enjoying something more by personalizing it.

Exactly what I am doing with my Fender Vintage 72 Re-Issue MIJ Tele(94). Instead of the chrome hardware...Going with Gold Plated and AliExpress had Gold "F" Neck Plate.
