That is not a bad cartridge. I have a couple of the wider bodied R25XT version of it. Sounds good if you track at about 3 gms. Nice looking turntable. I have an MCS 6603 which was made by Technics and a CEC made Scott turntable. Both are well made solid performers. The arm on yours looks just like the Realistic Lab 300 that I gave to my grandson. Definitely a CEC made turntable. You should enjoy yours.
Nice job, John - again! I ran across one of those at GW the other day but passed because there was no counterweight (or headshell and the belt was fouled in the mechanism). Still, it looked like a very decent turntable.
I'm guessing C.E.C. rather than Technics who made a lot of MCS tables, including the quartz DD T4P auto-return Model 6604 I have on the bench here.
