Yep, not the Panasonic/Technics you usually see with the MCS badge. Definately looks like a CEC built deck. Look at some of the Radio Shack tables from the same era and you'll see the similarities in style and arm geometry.

CEC made and makes some great stuff, including a belt driven CD transport. They also made some of Pioneer's tables.

It should hold it's own with the others. Nothing to be worried about. Have heard that with the right oil and a polish on the spindle, they will flywheel for a minute of so. Mine is good for about 40 seconds and I only have a modest polish. Very quiet drive if really well set up

Thats a nice looking table I really like the wood color. Looks to be CEC build not sure its very similar to my Marantz 6100 in style and layout in particular the arm. Sounds and looks like you did well.
I like your work area you got all the stuff there reminds me of when I was working on my tables here. :yes:

That looks very similar to a Hitachi PS-48 I used to have. The controls are the same, only mine was direct drive. I used a Toshiba headshell because the original was missing. It was built by CEC, I believe, and operated and sounded great.

You did a nice job cleaning it up - it looks great!

It's also a CEC relative of the Realistic LAB-400/420 decks. Very nice machines.
