Enjoy the Mustang now that summer's here...well, sort of here...
My stang is a fox hatch, although I still keep a 'Vert for sunny days:
Not a Mustang or Miata though. Although, it IS a two seater.....
Everyone needs to have a 'Vert on standby for those "just right" days....

Yep, sitting the garage, waiting for the next sunny day.
Was a "retirement gift" so the wife and I can go on day trips on sunny summer days. Great to run down the coast to the ice cream stand or down the valley for a plate of clams and chips.
It was cheap as chips too. Although I did have to do a little work to it (minor electrical, master cylinder, paint work, etc).
88 Corvette. C4 'vettes are seriously undervalued. Which suits me just fine!
It's 100% 80's goodness:
I'd see the new C4 vettes in High school and even had a friend who's Dad owned one, but it was always out of my reach price wise. Always said I wanted to own at least one Vette in my lifetime, so when we ran across this one at a bargain basement price, I scooped it up.
I lean 80's in my vehicles, so it suits me just fine. A bit "big" for some people though....

Actually, C4 vette's aren't that fast. Tops out a few ticks past 150 mph, mid to high 13 sec 1/4 mile.
Rated at 250 HP, but 350lbft torque. That big mutant spider on top of the engine boosts low end torque but strangles the 350 around 4500-5000 rpm. All the power is low in the rpm range, which is perfect for a cruiser.
It'll smoke em from a start until it shifts to second and then bark second. It's impressive for a 700r4. But any LSx engine will eat it's lunch after a hundred yards or so.
Your Mustang might even be able to walk away from it after the dig. Assuming I could get it to hook in the first place. It's a bit of a tire fryer from the dig.
We didn't buy it to race (or show off) though, we bought it to cruise and spend enjoyable time in the sun and wind....together.....
Edit: hold on a tick, you're a 5.0, not the V6. You'd definitely walk away from me after a hundred or so feet.....

Lol ... yep the 5 ... 420 HP @ 6,500 rpm and 390 lb-ft of torque at 4,250 rpm
And honestly I don't care .... lol
I wasn't looking for the GT per se
I was looking for a very well maintained car .... accident free ..... low mileage ..... etc and this fit the bill.
But I have a buddy who owns a Ford dealership and he said for resale the GT is the way to go.
So here we are.
Like you, essentially this is for 1 thing .... summer cruising with my bride
I wanna stay outta jail too....because she says she will not visit me in prison ....
So I will learn to relax my historically heavy foot and just chill.
It's great when a couple understand each other!

I have owned at least one Mustang since 1987. I currently own a LX 5.0L I bought in 1989 and a 2007 GT that was worked over by Steeda, an aftermarket performance company. The 2007 is set up to be a street legal track car and has a manual transmission. I love driving it and smile nearly constantly when I do. I am in my mid 60s and can still get in and out pretty easy and can work the clutch well.
All that said, I know I am approaching the day when I will have to move to an automatic. What you bought is basically what I will be driving at some point in the not too distant future. I just don't know what year of Mustang it will be. The nice thing about 2011-2014 GTs is they have a nice, dependable, good performing, six speed auto transmission. Paired to that 5.0L 32 valve V8, it should put a big smile on your face!
I wish you all the best and hope you can far exceed your expectations regarding the length of time you will be enjoying the Mustang.

Heather, a question about your new avatar: Did you discover a way to resurrect Andy Warhol and his polaroid? Really good photo. You oughtta look into having it silk-screened ... unless Mr Warhol(a) is already preparing that, too?
Its from a photo of Emma and I at a small local concert venue. We were seats 3, 4 and 5 at that table, basically front row seats, so it was stage lighting. Its only a slight edit to remove the Shaolin priest over my left shoulder, then cropped and slightly rotated.
