Yeah, I really did feel sad for the poor kid. Of course I was at first kinda pissed off that he had just destroyed my sweet caddy, but that very quickly subsided and I asked him "are you ok? are you hurt anywhere?" and he said "no, but my father is gonna kill me for wrecking his van!" ..... I told him "No he won't, when he sees how mangled it is he's gonna be real thankful you weren't badly hurt" (The front of it was so caved in that both front wheels were turned inward, pointing at each other). It was then that I smelled it and blurted out "did you poop yourself !?!?!?" and he said "yeah" with the most embarrassed look on his face, and that's when I told him to wait a ways away on the sidewalk for the cops (because the stink was truly gagging me).
As to your Mustang I really do hope & pray it's fixable, as you know it's all the dollar dance of book value VS repair cost, hopefully the ratio will work out in your favor of them fixing it
