Minidisc makes an appearance on TV

[Tom in RI]

Recently finished watching season 2 of The OA. In another timeline, how fitting, a therapist keeps his audio notes of sessions on minidisc. The player was a Sony, pretty sure it was a NetMD model.

That's cool. I remember when the Matrix came out and the disc they used to store information was a minidisc.

Always kinda wanted an MD player. No real reason other than they seemed cool.

Just received my second portable MD player today. I also own a component recording unit as well. All three were factory-refurbished by Sony.

Their sound quality is definitely a notch below that of CDs, but much better than cassettes (I owned a 3-head, 3-motor Sony TC-K670 cassette deck).
