Quality over Quantity
Your team is really good. They are tough outs. The radio shows around here have been praising St. Louis as a franchise to emulate for player personnel.
They do seem to be doing a lot of things right as an organization. They have developed a great farm system. They also knew what they were doing when it came to Puhols. I had mixed motions when they didn't sign him, but have since learned I don't know s**t.
They also seems to develop players that are good citizens and are team players. If they aren't team oriented, they move them along. Colby Rasmus as an example. He was a prized prospect within the organization, but proved he didn't fit what they were trying to build. They talk a lot about doing things the Cardinal way and they seem to have built a team and organization with that focus. It has taken me a while to see what they were doing, but it seems to work. The change began when the GM went to Cincy and they got John Mozeliak. That guy is a baseball genius IMO.
