Mlb 2013

i'll say this without a shame: we have the best record in the major league!

hopefully, we can say that again in may.....

It almost sounds like you want to join my exclusive Seattle Mariners fan club. :D If you join today, before the game starts, it's free, but if we win again tonight, there'll be a joining fee. :smoke: ;)

I'll join up! I think the M's could be slightly better than the pundits are giving them credit for, conventional wisdom is so tedious. But a few things have to go right and they need some improvement from the young guys if things are gonna turn around. If Smoak isn't hitting at least .250 by June it could be the last we see of him.

Yeppers, don't forget, we got Raul Ibanez back too, and he knows what those young guys need to learn, about hitting. ;)

I inadvertently saw the Tigers drop to 1-1. Went to pick up dinner at the local diner and sat at the counter during the bottom of the 9th. Joaquin Benoit walked the lead off man and two base hits later it was over.

btw, around here we refer to such a walk as a base on Benoit Balls.

Ha, on the first pitch of the game almost, Franklin Gutierrez hit a homer, 1-zip Seattle. :D I see we have 3 guys playing tonight, who've never played for us before, including our pitcher, Joe Saunders. I know we had "a" Saunders last year, but apparently a different guy. Ha, there's another homer, from Morse, making it 2-zip! :D EDIT: Yeah, we still have Michael Saunders on the team too, for a pair of Saunderses. :)

Four at a time, no less.

The Nationals are the NL team to beat. They definitely captured my interest with their personnel and play last year. Nobody has a starting rotation like they do. Hell, their #3 starter (Jordan Zimmerman) may be better than many teams #1 (as may their #4 and #5, Haren and Detweiler). Their top 2 (Strasburg and Gio Gonzalez) will both be Cy Young contenders again this year. And then, of course, they have Bryce Harper, the most exciting player in baseball and a likely NL MVP candidate. He absolutely tore up Spring training.

I do not see the Nationals winning 97. again without Michael Morse. Why did they trade him? He was your best home run hitter.

Well, I knew I was talking mighty big, but I still did it, and the fickle finger of fate has flicked my ear for it. :D ;) The As beat us 6-2 tonight, but we're still up 2-1 in the series. ;) One more game tomorrow, so the worst we can do is split the series. :)

today is my usual day off, but got called in, and i'm actually glad - so i can watch the early game today at work. :D

wonder what the rookie Maurer can do with A's lineup.

Oh man, I'm glad I looked in here. I knew today's game was a matinee last night, but I forgot this morning. I was almost ready to go out & miss the game. :nono: ;) That works, it's raining outside. :D

The Pirates had the tying and winning runs on base with no outs in the ninth against the Cubs, but they couldn't make it pay off. Really tight game in which most of the offense came in the final inning. It was a good game to watch, even though it was between non contending teams.

Well, we got spanked today, 8-2. :tears: ;) But overall, splitting the series with last year's A.L. West champs isn't anything to be ashamed of, & we all got some experience for THIS year. :thmbsp:

Neal huntington should be fired and sadly until the owner passes away the pirates will suck for another 20 years.

He keeps bringing in scrub after scrub..
