Mlb 2013

Getting ready to watch the Braves at Nats. Should be a great series between 2 NL teams with BIG expectations this year.

My Cards seem to be playing pretty well so far. Rookie starter Miller gave up 1 hit, stiking out 8 in 7 innings in last nights game.

A's are on fire and the Angels are 2 games behind the Astros?

The A.L. West is just nuts this year. The only sensible explanation is that letting those darn Astros in our section, really messed up the natural balance of things. :D My Ms are 5 & 7 now, not too great, but not totally eliminated "yet". ;)
 
Has anyone else been following Atlanta so far this season?

Yes, they are hot right now. However, I cannot recall a Braves team with this much scoring talent in recent history. Maybe since a stint in the mid 90's, but even then their forte was starting pitching. McCann and Freeman both on the DL but they keep scoring. Lot of depth.

Two pitchers Beachy and Venters on the DL as well.

Good defense. Great outfield.

The Braves are stacked this year. It should be a good contest with Washington down the stretch, despite the whacking the Nats suffered this weekend.
 
michael mckenry just hit his second homerun of the game!! We were down 5-0 vs the reds now it looks like maybe extra innings
 
Yay! Doc's back! All better now? His velocity, location and movement were all definitely improved. I guess we'll see ...
 
Damn you, Detroit! :rant: I'm not really mad at yas, just disappointed (yet again) in my Mariners. ;) But that's just one game, we "could" still spank you guys a couple times, & win the series. :D ;)
 
Up on the cards 4-2 and it gets postponed..
this couldn't happen while we were playing the Astros or something haha
 
Extry innings tonight for the Tiggers & Ms. :thmbsp: 1-1 so far. EDIT: Halfways through the 13th inning now, and the Ms have tied their club record of a combined 21 strikeouts in a game. :) I wouldn't mind if we just got a homer now though. ;) EDIT 2: The record for strikeouts for BOTH teams in a game is 43, and we're at 40 now. EDIT 3: Man, that was some finish. The Tiggers scored 1 during the top of the 14th, and we came REALLY close to scoring in the bottom, but Smoak was thrown out at home plate. :( Good game though, for sure. It looks like they used 8 pitchers, and we used 6. ;)

The Tigers won't have anybody left to pitch after a game like that. They need a complete game out of their next starter.

I read yesterday that Jose Valverde is looking fit (30 lbs. lighter than last year) and throwing really well in the Tigers farm system. Might not be long before he's back. If he can regain his dominant form, that will help Detroit lots.
