A. J. Burnette wasn't getting the job done in the final stage of his Yankee career. He appears to be a far happier and more effective player now, which is great. It's a shame he missed out on the no/no the other day, but, I bet his confidence is soaring after throwing a one hitter. Few would be shocked to see him have a breakout year. The guy has always known how to pitch.
I know, we still lost the series, but at least we avoided getting swept.

The Colorado Rockies won their eighth straight game tonight, which put them in a tie with Atlanta for the best record in baseball (so far) at 13-4. All of their games are broadcast here on the regional sports network, and, much to my surprise, they have become a team I really look forward to watching play. It's early days, but, what a way to start the season. Good stuff.

They lost today, as did the Braves. The Braves come in for a three game series which should be a good one. I'm hoping for the 'mile high magic' or whatever might be in the water to aid the Rockies. Preston

My Cards split with the Phillies.
I am a little surprised how competitive the Royals are so far. They took a double header from the Red Sox. I gave up on the Royals years ago, but would love seeing them competitive again.

It's snowing hard right now here at my house...I'm at 6300' and south and east of the metro area. doubt that the game will go on.

It's looking like there won't be any baseball played in Denver till Wednesday, so, the heads up series between the teams tied for the best won/lost record in baseball will have to wait. I guess I'll watch the Yankees at the Rays on ESPN instead.
