Mlb 2013

Well done Dodgers. Now, a short rest, and on to the NLCS.

Another unlikely win, 3 homers, both by guys who hit homers yesterday, Damn, Crawford and Uribe.

Dodgers hit I think 7 HR vs 1 for Atlanta, Had 15 extrabase hits vs 6 for Atlanta.

The Pitching on both sides in this game was darn good, and each bullpen gave up the lead.

The even numbered games ended with the home team each winning 4-3. Baseball is weird like that.

Good. Now at least we won't have to put up with that inane "tomahawk chop" through any more of the post-season.

After being conditioned to losing so many playoff series, I figured the Dodgers were erring on the wrong side of win today.
I had many errors of faith.
Mucho excitement!
Win or lose, I adored the "Blue Toma-taunt Chop":)

Congrats to the Dodgers and their fans. If they end up playing the Cards I have to think the Dodgers should have an advantage due to McGuire having in depth knowledge of the hitting weakness of the Cards players, after being their hitting coach for several years. As a Cards fan, it makes me nervous. Of course all is mute if the Pirates beat us in game 5.

If the Pirates lose tomorrow I'm cheering for the A's! I like cheering for the small market underdogs.

I bet MLB cringes at the fact that Oakland, St Louis, Pittsburgh, and Tampa bay were in the playoffs at all. MLB (or its network partners and sponsors) dont want competitive balance, just the appearance of it.

The Oakland/Detroit game was fascinating to watch. Detroit won and stayed alive, but, Oakland is a dangerous team. The fifth game will be a tense affair, I expect.

Yeah, that was a great game to watch. I never really got to see Oakland play during the regular season and only a handful of times saw Detroit. Both have excellent ball clubs. Looking forward to game 5.

Thanks for the congratulations to us Dodger fans:thmbsp:
I hope everyone enjoys the ensuing playoff contests:)

Due to the Dodgers winning their series, the Pirates/ Cards game has been changed to a prime time start of 7pm Central instead of 4pm. I guess they are the red headed step children in the playoffs.

GO CARDS!!!

MLB is the "red headed stepchild" of TV money, and, it's the only game played today. It will vastly expand viewership, but, now I have to wait till 6 pm for the broadcast. It will be worth it, I'm sure. High drama.

GO PIRATES!! My Gut feeling is that they will blow it tonight but.. great season and I hope Byrd decides to stay next year.

My gut is telling me it could go either way. I don't feel confident, yet I am not overly nervous about it. Two excellent pitchers, I think the team that plays the best defense will win it. Either way, none of the baseball geniuses I have listened to give neither team a chance of beating the Dodgers. We will see. I will be rooting for the NL Central team.

GO CARDS!!!

Great series all around. Too bad we don't see the same high level of play during the regular season.

Cards/Red Sox WS would be fun. However, I would like to see the Bucks win it all.

I really enjoyed the Seaver / Stargell confrontations in the old days.

The NL Central race has, by far, been the most compelling of all the division races to follow since the All Star break. The Reds narrowly missed the cut, and the final, go or go home showdown tonight between Pittsburgh and St. Louis is all any baseball fan could ask for. It's still more than three hours till game time, and I'm already jazzed. I can't imagine how jacked the players of these two teams must be right about now.

Knee, I agree. Wainright is a proven big game pitcher and Cole pitched a great game in game 2. It has all the markings of a must see game.

Both games the Cards won, I smoked a Cubano cigar during the game. The 2 losses I didn't. Tonight I have picked out a beautiful Cohiba, I hope my theory holds up. I will fire it up at first pitch. Which ever team loses tonight it won't be from lack of effort.

Play ball!

Cards win! Cards win!

Steelcity, your Pirates have a great team and I enjoyed this year watching them play. Yourself and Pittsburg should be proud, as should the Pirate team.

Kudos, Cardinals Fans.
The Cards have had the Dodgers number for the last decade(s), hopefully for Dodger Fans this will change.
I usually like the underdog/wild card teams chances to go all the way, hopefully the Dodgers will at least be rated the underdog.
