Mlb 2013

Lady Luck left the Dodger dugout yesterday leaving the heart and soul of the team to succumb to a nasty series ending blow to the chest and the end of the Dodgers chances to win even one more game let alone score another run.
Such are the fortunes of winning or losing, barring a miracle from a higher source than the fickle Lady, the Dodgers are done.

Never give up. The Dodgers now move back to Dodger Stadium where the home crowd can provide the 10th man energy that makes it so hard to win on the road.

Pitching is always the premium, but if we can get our bats going, anything can happen. Everyone will take a big deep breath and remember they got here by being great, and that must come from within.

GO Blue!

I can't find any definitive statements about the nature and degree of the rib injury that Hanley Ramirez has suffered, but I know from agonizing experience that recovering from anything beyond a minor rib injury is something that takes weeks, if not longer, to completely heal. I hope that his is an injury that he can shake off, but, I seriously doubt it. It's a nightmare for the Dodgers, who have come so far in such dramatic fashion. It just doesn't seem fair, but, there it is.

After having their vaunted offense virtually snuffed by Detroit pitching last night, I can't wait to see what the Red Sox think of Max Scherzer tonight. Look for the Tigers to leave Fenway with a 2-0 lead in the ALCS. I'm still holding out hope for a sweep in this one.

Knee, I was watching interviews with the Boston players on MLB network before last nights game and while they were confident it came across as cocky. I told my wife i hope they get their asses handed to them. They seemed more focused on how cool they felt with facial hair than they were with playing baseball. I think the best thing they could do is everyone shave clean and show some dedication to playing ball. But, that won't happen, they are feeling too cool with beards. They may end up looking like fools with beards if they don't focus on the game at hand.

I'm am sick to death about the turn of events.
The Dodger team, to a man, looks devastated.
The ace pitchers beside themselves.
I can't bear to watch another.

I'm soooo enjoying tonight's game at Fenway. Tigers 5, Duck Dynasty Fanboys 0 in the 6th inning, which still isn't over. Nice.

I'm sure that's just an over-enthusiastic typo (score's 5-0 right now)... The downside is, with two out and two on, Stone Cold Austin Jackson's up.

But I'm totally diggin' that the Tigers are takin' it to 'em. Especially since no one gave 'em a chance.

Yep, you got to it before I realized what I had typed and edited it. The best thing about it all is that Justin Verlander awaits them on Tuesday afternoon, and he's back in imperious form. I love it.

And yeah, the best Detroit can hope for out of Austin is that he gets hit by a pitch. I don't see why he even takes a bat with him to the plate.

Yeah, that wasn't my script either. I tuned out at 11 to watch Boardwalk Empire, figuring that I could trust the kids to bring it on home without me.

My script had Scherzer pitching the 8th and Benoit the ninth. Benoit's forte isn't pitching out of someone else's jam.

Pitching reigns again - Dodgers get the shutout behind Ryu, Wilson, and Jansen.

This time Dodger bats come through.

Now over 3 games, Dodgers scored 5 runs, Cards 4 runs total. Pitching is the premium so far in this series.

GO Blue, get 'em again tomorrow.

Neutralizing the imposing threat of Adam Wainwright dominating the game was a major coup for the Dodgers as well. Most (myself included) thought that the games he pitched would be the next thing to money in the bank for the Cards.

True that. We thought the same with Kershaw and Grienke, and both pitched well enough, but the team has got to give some run support.

I think both teams feel their pitching will come through, and they both have. The total of 9 runs is a major league low for the NLCS through 3 games. We'll see tomorrow. Nail biter series!

I missed most of last nights game and saw the results this morning. With a 2-0 series lead I wasn't feeling over confident as all it would take was a Dodger win last night to change the momentum, which it did. Tonights might be a different type of game and be a slugfest. Lynn is capable of throwing a great game, but is also just as capable of throwing batting practice. If the Dodgers tie it up tonight it will be really hard for us to beat the Dodgers aces again. This is a great series so far.

I felt it would take a higher power for the Dodgers to win a game and it came in the form of Hanleys the Manleys gutsy presence.
I remember when I had bruised ribs after being drilled by a fastball. For a week the only way I could get out of bed was to roll off the mattress.
I hope he's not hurting too much this morning!

Sox at Tigers at 1:30 pm where I live (MST), then the Cards at the Dodgers at 6:pm, so, a little break between games. It's a good day to be a baseball fan.

Has anybody else noticed the rather alarming expansion of the strike zone in the NLCS, at least how it has been depicted on the TBS Fast-Trax?
