Mlb 2013

When power hitters drive the ball into the stands, it's a matter of managerial luck? Who knew? All this time I thought it was them doing their job.

No, it's waiting for the homerun to win ballgames.
When a team, that is not known for home runs, and any team has gone for 150 at bats without a homerun, I feel it's up to the manager to put on plays, throw off the defense and get runners into scoring position especially when runs are at a premium.
It's called small ball, granted something with which Don might not feel adept:scratch2:.

The Fox guys were commenting that it was too bad that Avila got hurt because now he wouldn't be eligible to play in the World Series if they got there. Not sure I understand what the reason is for that.

I think it is only if they replace him on the roster during the ALCS, which they can do with a broken catcher. He would have to sit out the next round, which would be the World Series.

That was a great at bat for Carpenter in the 3rd. On the 11th pitch hit a double. Beltran then drives in the first run of the game.

I picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue!

That was a big inning against a big time pitcher for the Cards. The Dodgers have a tough row to hoe to get back in this one, against this kid Wacha. He's a star.

Puig is showing how raw he is tonight defensively. Looks like the pressure is getting the best of him in RF.

They have gotten to Kershaw. Another rough start in the 5th with 1st and 3rd no outs. Whoops, Adams just doubled and scored Molina.

Kershaw is gone. A lot of baseball left and I would be very surprised if the Dodgers have mentally given up. It ain't over folks. But I sure like the odds.

St. Louis Cardinals, National League Champions!!! My hats off to the Dodgers and Pirates. Both great teams.

I am really proud of my Cardinal team. Now, on to the World Series. Hopefully we aren't done.

These teams seem pretty evenly matched. Now to see who can't execute and rise above. It seems both teams are confident yet have a good deal of respect for the other team. As a Cards fan, to say I am excited would be an understatement.
