History being made at Wrigley Field today. The St. Louis Cardinals brought their minor league phenom Joshua Baez up from AAA today for his MLB debut at Wrigley against the Cubs.
Here's how his debut is going so far (and it ain't over yet)!
Pretty-good debut!
I think he might be another "keeper" along with Jordan Walker & J.J. Weatherholt!

- In his 2nd MLB at bat, Joshua Baez crushed another home run.

I know, right. The Brewers even threw a position player in for the top of the 9th, practically asking the M's to score a run. And nothing.

It's an epic annihilation! I'm telling you, the Brewers are the team to beat this year. They dominate everyone - especially the Cardinals. They "own" the Redbirds this year. They have the best pitcher in all of babeball plus a lineup that scores a ton of runs.

Boy the Cards are really taking it to the Dodgers tonight. The rookies are lighting it up!
The Cards started Leo Bernal at catcher tonight in his major league debut. He hit a 2 RBI single with bases loaded for his 1st major league hit and the 1st guy who was congratulating him on 1st base was Freddie Freeman. A total class act all the way and one of my favorite players of all-time. Definitely HOF material without doubt.
The Cards might not make the playoffs this year but it pretty-clear that they are going to be very good going forward. They made all the right moves and have the #2 ranked minor league system with a semingly endless supply of potential superstars in the waiting. The Dodgers have over three times the payroll of the Cards but the Cards are holding their own against them.
You can tell the Cards are young though. The first three runs they gave up was because of a bone-head play by two very young players Jordan Walker and Jose Fermin who collided in right field on what should have been the 3rd out of the inning but turned into a 3-run error.
It's 10-4 Cards right now but you can never count the Dodgers out.
