MMC Phono Pre AMP

so I have a beogram RX - the stylus / cart is a MMC - what type of preamp / phono stage do I use a little lost here on the what can and can not be used ----its not a MM or and MC

I'm fairly certain the B&O MMC's are MC carts.

They’re Moving Iron Micro Cross, which has a similar output level to Moving Magnet, and require a standard MM phono preamp section. Other MI carts include Stanton/Pickering and Grado.

Bang and Olufsen cartridges are NOT Moving Coil.

I'm pretty sure B&O cartridges are technically "Moving Iron" cartridges. Although, MMC supposedly stands for "Moving Micro Cross" according to this article: https://www.sound-smith.com/reviews/soundsmith-smmc1-moving-iron-phono-cartridge .

I know from personal experience that the MMC line of B&O cartridges are intended to be plugged into a MM phono stage. However, they are pretty low output cartridges in the 2.2 - 2.5mv range (similar to a lot of High Output Moving Coils). So, they do need a pretty high gain phono stage, or else the user will have to live with really cranking the volume on your preamp, which will in turn raise the noise floor.

Thank You - I will look into the dip switches on the Tube Box S - I did read the same article - however I didnt see any infor on an MM or MC stage
