I learned about about the Model 18 receiver after I picked up a Model 20 tuner.
The 18 apparently has what is basically the same tuner as the 20, including the oscilloscope that can be used for a variety of tuning related functions. If the scope on yours is working that is a good thing. Hard to find replacements.
The Model 20 is thought by some to be one of Marantz' best sounding tuners, albeit not the most sensitive. It is supposed to be basically a solid state version of the 10b. Mine just arrived at Punkers world headquarters at RadioX Towers in Flint for checkup and workup.
AK member Brian knows a lot about this vintage Marantz. Maybe he will chime in.

the woodcase can be found on ebay or there are a few ak members that could probally make you one.merrylander is one and theres others perhaps theyll chime in.there are a few members here that have a 18 (bolly) being one of them and im sure he'll butt in and give his opinion.goodluck with your new 18.

The Model 18 if I remember correctly was the first SS reciever Saul Marantz put out in 1968. One of the last Marantz that was built in the USA. The tuner dial numbers are hand painted on so be careful not to clean it OFF!
I had one that had a woodcase and was in pretty good condition. Except for the etched scope glass.
The sound is not exactly accurate but it's very full, warm and juicy. Easy to listen too. I'm still kicking myself for spring cleaning it away couple of years ago.

I'm gonna post some pics and dimensions of the WC-1 full wrap case. It will fit the 20, right? It's much nicer than the WC-1U. I'll have to do it this weekend. Because I have to tear in my quad system to get at it.
The model 18 and 20 are very nice vintage Marantz!

I have the model 18 on the way, and am looking at an excellent 2275 that has been completly refurbished. These will go into my office, or perhaps a room in the basement with the treadmill. (Perhaps I will spend more time on it if I have something other than an ipod to listen to.) My question is, what speakers would be recommended for these units. Obviously the 18 has 40WPC vs 75WPC for the 2275, so I may start with the assuption that it has to be a relativly efficient speaker. I have knowledge of the heritage Klipsch line as I own khorns for my main listening room, and I have owned Heresy. I also have sonus faber concertinas in the bedroom with the vintage Marantz 1120. My desire would be to spend much less than the SF or Heresy. Thoughts?

not sure if this helps but the case for the 19 is a wc-9 and it looks like the 18 will fit it just fine.

The original optional case for the 18 was neither of the "normal" cases we see. The case for a 19 was a case for the 19 - not 18. The case for an 18 was somewhat different - because the front edge of the 18 is different. I do not know if the WC-9 for the 19 fits the 18, but if it does - good. But it was not the right case for the 18. Unfortunately I do not know the type # of the 18-case. Eventually you can do a Google-search of the 18 and be lucy to see one in a case - or I could look in my picture-library to see if I have pic of that case.
