I don't even have a layout right now, but I have a vague idea of what I want when the time's right. I used to have a "layout" when I was younger, but high school and all the stuff that happens after got in the way and my interest dwindled. Last year, after having a severe manic anxiety episode, I decided to pick up my old hobby again and the positive coping skills it endows has really helped me.
I used to be afraid to try anything with paints, glues and small parts because of my shaky hands and inability to focus on one project for too long. But after growing and learning to take things slow I've rediscovered my love for the hobby, and I'm no longer afraid to try my hand at super-detailing. I've even scratch-built a few buildings from styrene, something I never thought I'd have the skill to do!
unreal modelers work space. must be 5K dollars worth of paint shown at the 1:30 mark
designers, engineers, they're just humans with the same poor judgement and limited intelligence like everyone else. I have been watching some of his videos and it seems he has lots of excess money by having SO much paint, tools, and well over 400 kits laying around that he'll likely never get around to build. That is a Super Modeler. I've seen some of his other videos. I have to say that the booth he purchased with that sloping roof I would never buy. It also looks like the company probably had some complaints about that slanting roof taking up too much of the space which defeats the purpose of a large expensive spray booth. The new version doesn't have the sloping roof. It has a flat roof and just looks like a much better thought out spray booth. Really don't have to worry about one of these. They're too rich for my blood.

Very nice. I had a 20x24 foot room filled with an HO layout in the 80's and 90's. A lot of Athearn bluebox engines that like you, I detailed. For the $25-$35 I paid for them, they looked and ran well.I haven't seen any trains yet, so I'll add my less than perfect attempt at modeling...
I'm adding details to a newer Athearn SD40-2 in HO scale. I believe it's one of the last "Blue Box" models as it lacks some of the finer details of the Ready-To-Roll line.
I painted the end handrails white about 6 months ago. I added the brass cast horn and the MU hoses on the front and back last week. Today I added the windshield wipers to the cab, and now I'm waiting for the paint on the plow to dry so I can glue it in place. I noticed after I added the horn that the prototype used a 3 chime horn, not a 5 chime. I'll probably change that later.
I'm also preparing to add some MU cable sockets, MU cables and coupler lift levers as well.

Really, really nice work! I'll have to dust off a build I did 8-9 years ago of a Tamiya "Sandy" A-1H Skyraider. I wish I had more time for model building but stereo rebuilds are consuming me even in "retirement"!Here it is. Pretty much done just a few more decals.
