Modelers Corner

My totally rebuilt and repainted Tamiya Jagdpanther had it's first run outdoors today. I went with an Ostfront mutt of a G1 and G2 non zimmerit which late war happened a lot with all German vehicles

Very, very nice! Did you DIY that pail?

Thanks!

Just to give the thread a bump. Cleaning up and tamping the field soil from the winter and April rain destruction with a PZIV as a prop:)View attachment 3185316View attachment 3185317
Another Italian campaign panzer? Interesting, but there are no side Schürzen on the wheels. Is this a 26.PD PzIV?

Missing Lynx had some nice photos of the 16.PD PzIV in Italy. One with a puppy mascot.

Have you ever made one of those curved Krummlauf close-quarter defensive guns for your tanks?

Thanks!

Would be a unique scratch build and also way beyond my limited abilities. Not sure if I've ever seen anyone do it on RC tanks. I'm sure it's been done by 1/35 scale static modellers. I'm sure Shapeways or somebody like that probably has a 3D printed version one. You can pretty well get anything now with 3D printing

A friend did it on his 1:48 scale JgPzIV (Vomag). Your JgPz reminded me of it. I think he had it set in a Seelow Heights scenario.

Static model. Not RC.

Getting close to finishing the 37 Ford truck and next in line is a Saturn V. Probably 1962 my mom let join a subscription model for the space program. I built starting with Mercury through Apollo. It was a lot of fun for a kid who was hard into planes and space. Learned more through that than in school.
Also Hobby Lobby has models for 40% off.

Here's the 37

My SO collects diecast, plastic, metal, and promos, many of which were lost in a tornado that destroyed our storage. We still have a house full of survivors.
My older bro entered the Fisher Body Craftsman Guild builder competition several times 60-odd years ago, screenshot of one of his entries, 1963, casting the windows was a RPITA bitch;

Very nice! Is it missing one road wheel? Bazooka knocked it out?
The maintenance crews used to remove the outer front bogie on the early Tiger 1's in the northern Russian front as they would clog up with mud between it and the drive sprocket making it a maintenance nightmare especially when it froze overnight. They found it was also unnecessary as far as the weight bearing was concerned. When I rebuilt the Tamiya a guy on a tank modeling forum had pointed out that Tamiya had provided the extended hub on the sprues but the instructions had it as parts you didn't use in the build but worked perfectly in assembling the front wheel so it makes it even more authentic looking
