Modelers Corner

Reason for spiralschnauze noses in WW2.

I used to use cut masking tape to paint these onto models.

I guess they have decals now. :)

Nice job!
Being the end of the season we got together at the club field and ran the tanks not battling. I took a lot of shots of the tanks but that one just jumped out as showing even at 1/16 how scarily effective that camo was and then the Panzer crews covered them with foliage. Our tankers were very lucky they had total air superiority on their side. I don't think without they had a chance

Gotta disagree and I'm no fan of the Sherman. When they came out with the Firefly version they had the ability to shoot from distance and there were too many Sherman's. The German tanks were over engineered gas hogs that had a bad transmission that could be broken with a mistake on the drivers part(Tiger) and good luck repairing it in the field. If allied air power wasn't like it was it would have just taken longer. Look what they did at Bastogne with weather denying they allies air cover. By that time we were the much better army.

I'd rather be in a P47 or Typhoon than a Panther in their sights. :)
