MONITOR AUDIO Silver 300- Urgent

It's hard to judge an audio device especially a speaker after you red reviews or even listen to it at the dealer...they must be played in your home environment because every single place is different like the speaker itself. I know it is a hassle to play back and forth with the speakers as they are large and heavy piece of equipment, but after you find the one that fulfills your audio wishes then you realize it worths.

Hi Guys

I am getting Monitor Audio Silver 300 for at 25% discount with warranty. Typically in Canada it is around $2700.
What do you think about the deal ?

I know this is a bit old. But I’m in the same boat and would love to know where in Canada you found this deal? There are hardly any dealers that carry Monitor Audio in downtown Toronto. One has to either drive to the boondocks or just buy online and hope to like the sound. Where did you get to listen to Bronze 6, Silver 200 and 300? Thanks.
As far as amp, we use Rogue Audio, Luxman, Marantz, Rega, and Yamaha 2ch int amps which all sounds great on the Monitor Silver line. The Silvers are actually surprisingly efficient overall. One of my favorite combos is the Rogue Audio Sphinx into a set of Silver 300s!
Hi. It’s hard to find Rogue Audio in Canada. Would the silvers do well in your experience with Cambridge Audio? Especially the CXA61 and the CXA81? Thanks.

50-100wpc. Listening right now to Silver 200 and 300 back and forth with a Rogue Audio Sphinx and it is so sweet. I've run them with a Rega Brio as well though and not an issue with 50wpc. They are rated 89-90db which is a truthful number, when I A/B against say something like a Totem Hawk you get a huge gain drop. On the other hand Klipsch Heresy or Forte and it's a massive gain bump. With modern gear I like that 100wpc area since it really opens the door to some of more inefficient speakers.
How did your MAs sound with the Rega Brio? I am thinking of switching from my marantz pm6006 to Rega Brio but not sure if that would be worth it. I want something with a more laid back treble and heavier bass (although right now the pm6006 is not bad at all and I am pretty satisfied so this change will have to be convincing). Some folks online say the Rega is in a different league from the Marantz. Thanks in advance!

Sorry to having missed reply you. I had got the speakers at a deal from Audio one store at Steels Vaughan Concord area in GTA in 2017 (I believe around Nov/Dec). They are good dealers. I still have the speakers hooked up to my humble Yammy rx v475 (80W). I use only 2 channels. Excellent sound, everything is very very musical especially in pure direct mode, but it generally depends on the recording quality of the album. I've been thinking of upgrading my receiver to flagship Aventage series that has ESS DAC. I am less keen on the wattage and more on the sound processor. I dont have enough space to have separates so I'll stick with contemporary setup of single high end receiver for time being.
