When measuring with a DMM it appears to have a slow progression from 0ohms and then after 50% of rotation the value changes are much greater. So what would be the technical description of that action?

So the conclusion is the CA-1000 Bass & Treble are Linear and the Loudness is Log (Audio)?

Seems the OP came back and updated his ask from a trim pot to a replacement for volume, balance, bass and treble controls. Your post is exactly what he needs if it is available in the correct resistance and taper.

Well looking at the $990 Alps, that is a 4-channel unit, the 2channel unit is available for about half that price. Not what the OP needs, but answers thread title question.

Yes, i really effed that up. I mentioned earlier before we knew you wanted volume tone balance controls that those were not trim pots. so instead of editing what I wrote, I'll just say the 2 channel unit is exactly what you need, 100kΩ dual control, if it has the right taper for your volume control

You are correct in that I started this Thread asking about Trim Pots. Then got side tracked onto Potentiometers, so I stopped and created a new Thread as shown in post 28.

Geez, we need help. In post 27 you have a link but no mention of it being a new thread to set things right, just a quote of my comment to a newer member. But, we are getting somewhere and hopefully your Yamaha will be working properly soon.

Bourns are really good trimmer potentiometers. They have many form factors to choose from and are easy to find and were used a countless times by people in this forum. There are many chinese knock offs which look identical but have a rather noticeable backlash when you adjust them.
Another brand of excellent quality, is COPAL which is now under a diversified company called NIDEC. They make excellent trimmer potentiometers (both single turn and multiturns) , many types of potentiometers. Well crafted, and they even have some with gold plated pins. Check the datasheet i attach if you want to see how they look like. I think Mouser and carry their products.
Finally, Phier is another brand that makes trimmer potentiometers, and regular potentiometers, among many other products. I am not aware of multiturn trimmer potentiometers made by phier.

That is unfortunate. Naturally, it all depends on what resistance values areneeded, but I did run a quick search for through hole types in Mouser and found some available in stock. Digikey also has some.

These sure look very nice, about five times the cost of Bourns But that is fine.

Also having a bit of a clearance issue:
First criticism.
Remove those screw terminals and go back to soldered on wires . Reason is you loose access to the trimpot adjusting screw and you also covered a solderable hole for VR 601.
Also the connection can be more compromised at the friction point over a soldered connection. Or solder in pins with a wire wound connection.
And it looks sloppy to me, just my opinion.

I agree with @Nashou66 about the screw terminal connectors; I think they are less reliable than soldering.
With regards to the COPAL trimmer potentiometers these are 5K, 0.5W 3-turns and not super expensive: 63-TM-7ES502-ND
