The Bomboras are an American all-instrumental surf band from Los Angeles. The band was formed in the summer of 1994, sharing a love of 1960s surf and garage music such as The Ventures, Booker T, and The Sonics.

Donning Day of the Dead regalia onstage, the fivesome tempered their retro-stylings with an update by way of The Ramones, The Pandoras, and Nuggets. Accompanied by frenzied Go Go girls, spitting flames, stage-diving, and destroying their own equipment, the Bomboras' livid funhouse take on surf rock became an object of fan adoration, albeit a worry to the local fire department.

The Bomboras took their name from a classic surf instrumental by the Original Surfaris.

Danny Morris was a guitarist with The Nighthawks. Quit the band to form his own surf band. Saw him more times than I can remember and hired him for community pool parties. The kids would dance like someone spiked the punch bowl with LSD.

Well since no one got the answer correct for yesterday's Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet trivia question, which is kind of surprising with the advent of today's internet search engines, I guess the $50 prize will go unclaimed. Oh well. lol

The Crazy Aces are a popular Nashville-based instrumental surf rock band. Known as "Nashville's only Surfadelic Spy-a-Go-Go band", they blend hard-driving traditional surf music with elements of Japanese Eleki, 60s mod, and spy soundtracks.
