Alright. Finally made it home at 6:40Pm today(I slept till 11:30 and then went for breakfast). Still need to unpack.
That was an awesome get together. I know I am going to forget names so I will apologize now.
Like everyone has said, the badges were amazing. Peter did a great job on them. The food was fantastic (whoever made it is great, the hamburgers were amazing). By the end of the night we ended up with three systems cranking the tunes. :yes:
X_25, enjoy the Teac RTR and thanks for coming up and sharing the love (and dementia). We compared his SOny ES tner with the Sony HD tuner and it compared quite favorably; keep that one!
I will. I dragged it inside sometime after you had left. That thing is heavy.
I am going to have to clear some space on my dresser for it.
- AdamAnt's super clean, high performance linear track Beogram TT. I've never seen one in such excellent condition and it sounded incredibly good. Folks, this thing was perfect!
- Demoing pipe organ music in the "back room"!
Adams Beogram was fantastic sounding. If the upkeep wasn't so much and they weren't so rare I would look for one. :yes:
And the JBLs are something else when it comes to organs aren't they?
Another thing I like about the AK crowd is that you get a more relaxed attitude towards all this. Not that there wasn't some serious critical listening going on, but by the end of the night we had the broadest speakers hooked up to the most powerful amp in the smallest room playing the loudest recording. It's like the hifi equivalent of a bunch of drunk Australians hitting each other over the heads with cricket bats.
Are you talking about the Phase Linear 400 and the JBLs? I think they could have gone louder but didn't want to chance it.
Those JBLs were loving that room though. I have honestly never heard them sound that good (although the 400 did sound a bit better than the 300 series II I have).

Thanks as always to Frank for being an outstanding host! Great food, great folks, great music, great nametags, can't get any better than that. :yes: I'm glad that the Beogram 8000 decided to behave itself this time, as did x_25's Maggie console pull tube amp (man, did that thing sound sweet!). I'm glad that Peter is happy with the speakers and turntable he bought from me. It's always been my aim to make sure that my stuff goes to people who can truly enjoy it, and I definitely accomplished that goal yesterday.
To anyone who was wondering: That damned railroad crossing signal DID finally stop going off, sometime around midnight.

Adam, that Beogram sounded fantastic. Paired the with Rotel that I bought and through the rest of the gear it was great. One of the more awesome turn tables I have seen. I was actually surprised the Maggie decided to behave, but it was sounding good all night. Peter was terribly happy with that stuff though, those Scott speakers sounded surprisingly good.
That railroad crossing was just forcing us to keep the music going.
There will be more comments as I think of them.
PS. Almost forgot, Frank, it was an amazing party and I had a blast. I will definitely try to make it up there again, it was great meeting everyone.
