Nakamichi 700

haggy38 do tell us about the mod for blue well lighting. Very cool...

That's nice.
I like the look of this deck..thats why i bought it but it sounds as good as it looks. I cannot imagine the dragon sounding much better. I am going to checkout the zx7 today and may add that to my deck collection lol. Also have a Tascam 122mkII but the 700II sounds slightly better.

Hi guys,

I did this mod long time ago, it’s a simple two led strip at 6V from some point in the power supply, of course you got to take out the faceplate and woood cover to work the cables around....

That picture really takes me back. Between 1976-1981 I worked for CBS in one of their tape replicating facilities. For Mastering and A/B work we used Nakamichis for reference playback. We had the 700, the 1000, and several 680zx players. We modified the playback EQ circuit to make them more adjustable, since our spec for EQ levels was +/- 0.3db between frequencies and for level between channels. Very nice players for the job. I will have to say they are a pain to work on compared to other industry standards like the Tascam 122MKIII.
