I upgraded to all DW hardware a few years ago and just bought Machined direct drive double bass pedals. I haven’t adjusted them to where they need to be yet but I’m working on it. Thanks for the SAE info!

This stack was totally rebuilt several years back and I had it all functioning really well prior to putting it in storage.

Very nice, I've got the tape deck sitting on top, and am trading a set of Hearseys for the system one amp and pre, other bits and pieces.

I'm impressed. You given me a new direction.

From a performance point how efficient, were these unit, and did they sound good, thru good to

great speakers?

The biggest problem with these components is to keep all the pots and switches clean. The early power amps don't have DC protection which will take out speakers if they go DC on you. There was a dealer mod and later ones had the protection. They sound pretty good, and are fairly clean but I think there were better choices in their price range when new. They are certainly one of the coolest looking systems ever created!

SB, is the dealer mod still available. I won't pick my units up until Thanksgiving week. My Tape unit is the 1000, with a letter or number following. I'm not interested in smoking any of my corns, Warfdales, or delquists.

Just put a voltage meter on the outputs and check for DC current. 0mv is perfect but +/- 50mv is good enough not to hurt your speakers. Take the case off and you should see a small daughter board about 2" square which is connected to the outputs. That is the DC protection.

Does anyone know the original release date of the Nakamichi System One? I've had mine for years but far from when it was new. I always thought circa '73-'74, but there is not much available information regarding this fine gear. Thanks.

I believe it was 1975. Billboard magazine had a story about the system in 1976.

I used to run Infinity SM 122's which I no longer have I have the system hooked up to a couple of Infinity IntraTwo's. They sound very good at the level I run the system. My ears have downgraded and can't take the highs anymore...

I have my two system 1s out of rotation right now but I may have to bring them out of storage. They are about the coolest looking integrated system ever! Quality is pretty darn good too but man were they expensive back in the day!

Do you use the bridging adapter for the 620 amps?

Hello I have run into a problem. My boys had been experimenting with my high power version of my System One and they disconnected the BA- 100. That black box is the only piece of equipment that I do not have a manual for and I can't for the life of me remember how to hook it up the right way it had been sitting hooked up for years. I really don't want to risk destroying the amps etc.. Since you and I have the same set up you may be able to help me out. I should have documented the original hook up. Thank you in advance for any help you can pass along.

I have my system in storage but there is a diagram on the converter that illustrates how to hook it up. Also, I believe the 620 is meant to use the BA-150 adapter? Maybe the BA-100 works fine?

One of these came up just a "few" hundred miles away, too far away for a lookie-loo but not too far away to just go get it if I decide up front that I want it. The system looks perfect. How much are complete working 600-series System Ones going for now?

Do you know how much they want for it? My son would have said, “Google it”. So I did, there are a few around the globe for sale. Asking from 1,000 euros to around 2,500 euros. Where is this one, I’ll go check it out for you
